We all got up early, and left for our trip at 6am! I must admit, I was slightly nervous because this was our very first LONG car trip! As always, Tanner out did himself...he was WONDERFUL!! (Thank goodness for the portable DVD Player!)
We got to St. Louis around 2pm--we were leaving for the game at around 5:30pm.
We ate dinner and away we went! We got to the game early enough to settle in...get something to drink and kind of relax before the game started. Tanner was a little on the 'unsettled' side. He couldn't decide what he wanted to do...sit in my lap, or his Poppa and Nanna's lap...or just stand and look around. FINALLY, the players ran out on the field. All the sudden, we heard, "CAWWDINALS!!! CAWWDINALS!!!" Priceless! He kept screaming "Hi Cawwdinals!!" and waving at them as hard as he could! Laughing and screaming!!!
Unfortunately, we were only able to see 2 innings due to being under a Tornado Watch w/ torrential rains, but in those 2 innings we were able to see a homerun and a bunch of fireworks! He screamed and giggled with everyone else! He loved it!!
We all hung out until the rains let up a bit, then it was off to catch the train back to the hotel. As soon as we started for the train, the rains came down again! Tanner raised his head and screamed, "Raaaiiinnn!" (he loves the rain! especially if he's getting wet!)
We made it back to the hotel and rested the rest of the night.
The next day we made it to the St. Louis Zoo. Tanner's fav--the elephants!!
It was a great weekend, despite the rain! We can't wait to go back!!

What a fun trip! I can't wait to take Eli to his first Astros game. I hope he has as much fun as Tanner did at his first game!
