HCMC!!

We survived the plane ride...I have NO IDEA what time it is here (after 4 calls and 3 housekeepers, and 2 maintenance men...we still have no clock/alarm clock!) I heard people talk about the traffic here...and have seen some pictures and documentaries, but NOTHING can prepare you for it! I'm telling you, PSYCHO SCOOTER PEOPLE!

When Trinh picked us up from the airport, we groggily hopped in the van for the forever ride to The Rex. I just closed my eyes, (I wanted to put my head between my knees--in survival-mode)and watched Angela's reaction to the complete chaos that surrounded us!
We got to our room--completely overwhelmed...took our first shower in 2 days (gross)and made sure we had internet...our 'outside' communication, and decided to brave the traffic beneath us. It wasn't so bad, except for the fact that coming back to The Rex, Angela come so close to getting smashed by a scooter.

Here's a picture of us, right before we headed across the street to the Saigon Tax Trade Center (I'm thinking it's not THE Tax Center that everyone talks about...we'll go there, when we come back from Lam Dong....Maybe.)

Today, being able to say that we are in HCMC--is great---scarey, but great! TOMORROW, I'm going to see my angel for the very first time!!

Kelly...so gald you're in Tanner's birth country. Isn't it amazing?

The Tax Center is the one right across the street from the Rex. The Ben Thuan (sp?) market is a couple of blocks away. It's huge and very overwhelming (for some of us). When you exit the Rex and turn Right. Go to the corner and turn right again. It's about 3 blocks down the street. You can't miss it. It's huge and has anything and everything you could possibly want.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of a mommy and her son. OK, that just gave me chills. Praying for you!
